  1. If you receive a message that violates KakaoTalk Operation Policy from a person who is not on your friends list, please report it according to the following steps. The complainant’s personal information will not be disclosed to the reported person to protect his/her privacy.

    1) Select [Report] on the top of the chatroom.
    2) You can select up to 3 messages for reporting on the Report Message page.
    3) Select [OK] at the bottom.
    4) Check ‘I agree’ on the Report pop-up.
    5) Select [OK].

    [Important!]
    • The reported message will be sent to a relevant Kakao team, and the reported person will be blocked.
    • The related chatroom and conversations will be deleted. Please make sure to capture any conversation you need to store in advance.

    • If the reported person is on your Friends list, please remove him/her from the list and then report the message.

  2. If you receive a message that violates KakaoTalk Operation Policy from a stranger in a group chatroom to which you were invited by a person who is not your friend, please report it according to the following steps. The complainant’s personal information will not be disclosed to the reported person to protect his/her privacy.

    1) Select ‘this link’ in the guidance on the top of the chatroom.
    2) You can select up to 3 messages for reporting on the Report Message page.
    3) Select [OK] at the bottom.
    4) Check ‘I agree’ on the Report pop-up.
    5) Select [OK].

    [Important!]
    • The reported message will be sent to a relevant Kakao team, and the reported person will be blocked.
    • The related chatroom and conversations will be deleted. Please make sure to capture any conversation you need to store in advance.

    [Other]
    • You can report a message in a group chatroom only when both the person who invited you and the person who sent you the abusive message are not your friends.
    • If any of the persons are on your Friends list, please remove him/her from the list and then report the message.

  3. If you judge a Live Talk clip hosted by a person who is not your friend in a group chatroom to which a stranger invited you violates KakaoTalk Operation Policy, please report it according to the following steps. The complainant's personal information will not be disclosed to the reported person to protect his/her privacy.

    1) Select the warning light icon at the right bottom corner of the Live Talk screen.
    2) Check 'I agree' on the Report pop-up.
    3) Select [OK].

    • A part of the Live Talk content will be sent to a relevant Kakao team, and the Live Talk host and the person who invited you will be blocked.
    • The related chatroom and conversations will be deleted. Please make sure to capture any conversation you need to store in advance.

  4. If you receive an invitation from a stranger to a Talk Calendar event that violates KakaoTalk Operation Policy, please report it according to the following steps. The complainant’s personal information will not be disclosed to the reported person to protect his/her privacy.

    1) Select [Report] at the right bottom of the Talk Calendar Event.
    2) Check ‘I agree to report the event’ on the Report pop-up.
    3) Select [Report].

    [Important!]
    • The event will be deleted from My Calendar, the person who invited you will be blocked, and you will receive no more invitations from him/her.
    • A part of the event details will be sent to a relevant Kakao team.

    • If the reported person is on your Friends list, please remove him/her from the list and then report the profile.

  5. You can't report a message from your friends.

    If you need to report illegal acts of a friend that you added or you're being threatened by the person, please report the relevant message after disabling (deleting or blocking) the friend relationship.

    1) Right-click the other party's profile on the KakaoTalk Friends list and select [Hide].
    2) Press Settings (cogwheel) on the bottom left side of KakaoTalk and click [Configuration].
    3) Click [Manage Friends > View List].
    4) Click [Delete] on the right side of the person's profile you want to remove.

    The relevant chat room and content will be deleted when reported. Please note that you must visit the investigation agency and submit a report if you need help from it, or you must capture the content or store it via 'Export Chat Message' if necessary.

    The reported person will be automatically blocked when your report is accepted. If you're still obliged to continue chatting with the person, please unblock the relationship and continue the conversation.

    If it is necessary to take measures against the other party's illegal acts, please notify us via Customer Service after reporting the relevant message. We will review whether the case violates the operation policy and take necessary measures.
