  1. Due to changes in the Android OS policy, KakaoTalk is unable to load some customized theme lists in [KakaoTalk Settings > Themes].
Each user theme developer needs to update their settings to resolve this issue.

Please share the following with user theme developers.

Go to AndroidManifest.xml file's MainActivity and see if the theme intent-filter has been defined.

The customized theme will be visible in [KakaoTalk Settings > Theme] once this value is added to the customized theme.

    Thank you.

  2. You can also add friends using the ID Search, QR Code or Shake features. Go to the Find tab (the magnifying glass icon) to explore different ways to find and add your friends.

  3. If you receive that message without having changed your device, then your Kakao account's email address or password may have been compromised. Please immediately verify your phone number, re-register to KakaoTalk, change your Kakao account password, then log in to KakaoTalk.

We recommend you use a new and unique password and continue to change your password frequently.

  4. If your Kakao account has been, or may have been, logged-in (accessed) by an individual with unlawful intentions, then you must immediately register again by verifying your phone number, change your Kakao account password, and re-connect to KakaoTalk.

Contact your local police station or file a report with the Cyber Terror Response Center if you wish to investigate the incident.

You must not unregister from KakaoTalk if you wish to file a report, and you may have difficulties in the investigation if you have not experienced any damage.

Kakao does not have the right to investigate such matters, and we would like to ask for your understanding if we are unable to directly resolve possible damages.

We will submit all necessary information upon request from the police and fully cooperate with the investigation.

  5. Kakao Account is a very secure way to store your KakaoTalk info and access the span of our services. However, if you use your Kakao Account password in other email services or websites, and if those websites have been endangered, then your Kakao account may also be at risk. We recommend you use a new and unique password and continue to change your password frequently.

  6. Go to More > Settings > Friends > Blocked Friends to unblock a friend.

  7. Even when KakaoTalk push notifications are enabled, they may not appear 100% of the time. This is especially the case when the network is changing (Wi-Fi to 3G or vice versa). Push notifications can be lost or delayed in delivery at this time. As iPod Touch devices work only with Wi-Fi, when they are on sleep-mode, push notifications will arrive in 15 minute intervals.
  8. Go to More > Settings > Notifications and disable Group Chat Notification.
  9. Tap the yellow icon on the bottom-right corner of the Chats tab.
Select multiple friends from your Friends list and tap OK to start a group chat.

OR - If you are already in a chatroom, tap the triple-lined button on the top-right corner and select Invite to invite more friends to your chatroom.

  10. Creating a Kakao Account secures one email address you can use to explore all of Kakao's applications and linked services.

Go to More > Settings > Privacy > Kakao Account to create a Kakao account. With your Kakao account, you can restore your information including your friends list, recommended friends list, blocked friends list, hidden friends list, sent/received items, KakaoTalk ID, profile picture and status message. (Friends whose phone numbers are not saved in your contacts will be displayed under their set name.)

    * NOTE : You may only use one Kakao Account per mobile number (and vice versa); you may not set more than one number to your Kakao Account. It is possible to have more than one mobile number registered to separate Kakao Accounts using a separate email address. If you attempt to connect your Kakao Account to a different phone number than originally registered, you will automatically be unregistered from the account.

    - If you have changed your phone number and had your new phone number verified, and then attempt to re-connect with your previous Kakao account, then your previous KakaoTalk will be deleted.
